This project was made as part of a visual design project that explored typography and fundamental design applications. Choosing Futura as my main typographical theme, I further conducted research on this typeface.

Futura is a classic san serif font that was designed by Paul Renner in 1927 and its unique style became known as the modern, futuristic typeface of its time.

Understanding that Renner's design was innovative for integrating geometric forms and near-even stroke weights, I applied geometrical shapes into my early sketches to fit this typographical theme. I wanted the geometric shapes to greatly contrast in size in order for movement and emphasis to be apparent on the poster.

I further examined Futura's different contrasting typeface styles and chose a primary color palette that would best suit the modernist aesthetic. Then I applied these elements onto the final poster.
